PROFILE

With an extensive public health background, I approach UX design with a passion for understanding people’s needs and an exceptional ability to communicate ideas across diverse backgrounds. This results in a unique perspective for understanding how the social and behavioral values of my users impact the designs I create.

Intern Project: Unified Reporting Initiative

The Unified Reporting Initiative is a project of the Digital Experience team, this initiative was created to develop a uniform, concise approach to generating reports throughout the whole Magento platform.

The Problem:

The Magento platform is part of the Adobe Experience Cloud and for many years it has been a leading force in the E-commerce industry. The Magento platform has three main areas where you can view reporting: Magento Admin, Advanced Reporting and MBI. All three areas display data using different sources of truth and visual look and feel. This makes for a very inconsistent and disjointed experience for the user as they may be going back and forth between programs.

My role: UX Designer Intern Role

My role as UX Designer Intern was to assist the team with the Initial Research Phase, which focused on discovery to figure out the client’s use of data and the type of decisions they make around data.

Research Process:

  • Assisted with the initial research phase, participated with user interviews and synthesis of data.
  • Conducted a competitive analysis in four categories: business intelligence tools, e-commerce platforms, order management systems, and behavioral analytical solutions and 3-5 companies per category.
  • Prepared and participated in an all-day affinity mapping session that garnished insights that will be addressed in future product work, areas of possible research and insights that influence projects other teams are working on.

Insights and Lessons:

  • Identified gaps that can be addressed in future product work, new areas of possible research and insights that influence projects other teams are working on.
